A major programme of road works will extend the network in the Philippines, helping to lower chronic traffic congestion at key points across the nation.

One of the major works will be for the of Metro Cebu Expressway (MCE), with bidding due to open in 2023. The north-south bypass will link Naga City with Danao City and is expected to cost US$1.64 billion while it will be handled under the PPP format. The project will be managed by the Department of Public Works and Highways in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) will also offer the NCR EDSA Busway project under the PPP model. A timeline for the tender process has not so far been revealed.

And in addition, work is moving ahead on the NLEx connector road linking the North Luzon Expressway and Manila. The new 8km route is expected to be ready for traffic by the second quarter of 2023.
