A new bridge linking Thailand and Malaysia has been agreed.
A new bridge is being planned to connect Thailand and Malaysia. This will be the second bridge spanning the Golok River between the two nations.
Both countries are keen to speed up the construction of a new bridge, having agreed to the plans. The bridge will be built between Rantau Panjang in Kelantan in Malaysia and Sungai Golok in Narathiwat in Thailand.
The new bridge will be built parallel to the existing bridge. The cost of its construction will be shared between Thailand and Malaysia.
Measures will also be taken for the Golok River estuary to reduce problems in the area with flooding that occur during the monsoon period.
