The work includes upgrading various access roads around the airport, as well as widening the Via Express route, which runs around Angola’s capital city. The airport is being upgraded at present, with the work due for completion in 2017. The airport is entirely surrounded by urban development, with congestion around the facility posing problems for travellers. Improvements to the Via Express route and the airport access roads should help in reducing journey times.
