A new multimodal interchange is being planned for I-70, where it connects with Denver International Airport. The project is intended to boost capacity and improve traffic flow, as delays are common in the vicinity of the airport during peak travel periods. Construction of the new interchange will include building a new bridge as well as dedicated express lanes and lanes for high occupancy vehicles. The plan to improve the link between the airport and I-70 is getting the go ahead in the wake of a decision by the Transportation Commission of Colorado.
