New highway and bridge works are being planned for Russia’s capital, Moscow. The plans call for 49.5km of roads being built in the city in 2021, including a 12km stretch of the M3 highway and 5km of the Vnukovo highway. By the close of 2023, an additional 72km of road links will have been built in Moscow if the plans are fully realised.

Meanwhile, five bridges will be built in Moscow during the 2021-2024 period. These include a bridge spanning the Skhodnya River, part of works to improve the Volokolamskoe Highway. Work on the link between the Yaroslavskoe Highway and Dmitrovskoe Highway includes building four bridges. Two bridges will span the Bittsa River and link Kuryanovsky Boulevard with Kantemirovskaya Street, while  one bridge will span the Yauza River, providing a new connection to the important AMO ZIL automotive facility.
