A key Kansas highway upgrade is being planned.
Improvement works are being planned in Kansas for an important highway section. The US$260 million project will deliver an upgraded connection between I-135 and I-35.
The project is being managed jointly by engineering firm WSP and the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). Called the K-96 Improvements Project, the work will see the section of road being widened so that it features three lanes in either direction instead of two lanes in either direction at present. Resurfacing work will be carried on some sections while seven of the interchanges will be upgraded, while better facilities for pedestrians and cyclists will be added.
