Construction work on a number of key Indonesian tolled highway projects is now well underway. Stretches of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road 2 (JORR 2) project should be ready in 2021.

The route features four sections, Cibitung-Telaga Asih, Telaga Asih-Tambelang, Tambelang-Tarumjaya and Tarumajaya-Cilincing. In all, the Cibitung-Cilincing JORR 2 route extends 34.8km and the project has a value of around US$712.6 million, being managed by Waskita Toll Road and Akses Pelabuhan Indonesia.

Work is due to start on the 50km route connecting Surakarta and Yogyakarta, although a finish date has yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, the massive Trans-Sumatra Toll Road project is expected to be ready for traffic by 2024. This will deliver an important economic boost for Sumatra.
