Three new highway links are in focus in California. One of these is the newly opened connection between State Route 91 and I-15. The new section of road took 24 months to build and has cost US$270 million. The stretch was paid for using a combination of state funding and revenue from road tolling.
Meanwhile, in Sacramento in northern California a proposal has been put forward for a new stretch of tolled lanes on I-80 between Davis and Sacramento. This 27km stretch would help reduce peak time congestion. The proposal has been put forward by the California Department of Transportation.
And in San Joaquin County, the widening project for I-205 has been placed as a high priority. This will see additional lanes being added to the route between I-5 and I-580. The lanes are likely to be tolled.
