Progress is being seen for a series of Colombian road contracts.
The contract for the 14km Doble Calzada Oriente (DCO) dual carriageway project has been awarded to local company Conconcreto. The package of works is worth close to US$265 million and will be carried out under the PPP model. The road will link Envigado and Rionegro
Meanwhile, interest is strong in the Accesos Cali-Palmira fifth generation (5G) road project. Colombia's national infrastructure agency (ANI) is reviewing the eight bids received and will ensure they meet the necessary requirements. The contracts for the project will be work $349 million and will be awarded on 13th May 2021. Rebuilding the road will take four years and the concession package for operating and maintaining the 310km route will be for 29 years.
