Rotating skip from Ausa
Ausa has developed the D1000AHG dumper which offers a 10tonne load capacity and features a skip with 180º rotation for unloading. Like the smaller models in the range, the D1000AHG offers high productivity and low maintenance costs. Power comes from a Kubota diesel with low exhaust and noise emissions, as well as low fuel consumption.

Lithuania's Ministry of Transport proposes that the country's major international transport routes be added to the EU's Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). Sections of national roads and logistics centres under development in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, and Siauliai be included into TEN-T under the proposal.
Hand-held compaction control from Dynapac
CompLogger, a new hand-held compaction control system is being introduced by Dynapac as a soil compaction analyser. It provides a real-time image of compaction over the entire surface to be compacted. The easy-to-use unit can be used for production planning and throughout compaction and the data can also be saved for future quality control and evaluation.
Asphalt plants use recycled asphalt, reduce costs
Cesan, the Turkey-based supplier of asphalt plants and related products, says it is following a customer-oriented development strategy and anticipating their needs. Sandvik loaders aid Russian project
Sandvik Mining and Construction has signed an agreement with Bamtonnelstroy JSC covering the delivery of six LH 410 underground loaders (LHDs) featuring an innovative side-tipping bucket option. The loaders, being delivered in two lots, each have a capacity of up to 10tonnes and a bucket size of 4.6m³.

Versatile digging from Bobcat
Bobcat's new 8tonne class E80 excavator is said to offer high performance as well as fuel efficiency, durability, operator comfort and easy serviceability. The maximum digging depth of the E80 is 4.15m, the maximum dump height is 4.72m and the maximum reach is 7m, although a longer dipperstick is optional.
Romanian road bids
Bidding is healthy for key road projects in Romania. Four companies and one consortium have submitted bids for the modernisation of the DN18 national road linking Baia Mare with Iacobeni.
Volvo trucks on the move at Lummen
Construction company Jan De Nul is using a fleet of Volvo machines for a key highway project in Belgium. The machines have been able to move 26,000m³/weekend on the project to upgrade a highway junction at Lummen, a small town 60km from Belgian capital Brussels. A fleet of 16 Volvo ADTs is being used for the work, to improve the intersection between the E313 and E314, which had become an accident blackspot. Major Pisa link gets upgrade
Recycling with foamed bitumen is being used for lane reconstruction on the SP11 road in Italy, where contractor F.lli Lepri is carrying out work on a 14km section. The SP11 is an important link forming part of the Colline per Legoli Highway connecting the SS67 Tosco-Romagnola Highway near Pontedera with the southeast region of Pisa Province up to the borders of Florence Province.
Indian highway project with Chinese input
The National Highway Authority of India has signed a package deal with Ramky Infrastructure and Chinese firm Jiangshu Provincial Transportation Engineering Group for a major highway project.
