The French-based company Tertu, the steel backed timber crash barrier market’s worldwide leader, has successfully performed a crash testing programme according to US standard MASH requirement (AASHTO Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware) at level TL 2 ( 2.2 T pick up at 70km/h and 1100kg car at the same speed, with impact angles of 25°). The aesthetically pleasing T-MASH 18 device became the very first European designed barrier combining wood and steel complying with MASH requirements while meeting all evaluation criteria.

During last spring, the first orders were shipped to Australia and installed in Queensland, close to the Gold Coast, a residential and touristic region where environmentally-friendly and crashworthy restraint systems are suited to the rural scenery.

The T-MASH 18 has also been added to the list of permanent road safety barrier systems accepted for use in New Zealand. More market places where MASH standards are the rule such as Singapore, UAE, Canada , Mexico and the USA will be targeted too. Several companies based in those countries have already expressed strong interest .

This 2m post spacing system will be presented to International visitors on Tertu’s stand 08.218 during 2022 Amsterdam Intertraffic Exhibition from March 29 to April 1.

And remember the 3 good reasons to select T-MASH 18 for your road safety projects :

• Meeting with all MASH standards requirements
• Crashworthy & environment friendly system
• Easy to install device
