In Australia a would-be car thief was caught by police when he locked himself in the vehicle he was trying to steal. The police responded to a call regarding an attempted car theft in Adelaide and found a 53 year old man trapped inside the vehicle. A second would-be thief was found hiding in nearby bushes.

A would-be car thief in China found that 13 is an unlucky number. During his attempted escape from pursuing police at Meizhou in China's Guangdong Province, the man managed to crash into 13 other vehicles. A traffic officer tried to flag down the driver of the stolen vehicle but the man instead began bulldozing his vehicle through the streets in an attempt to escape.

A Lithuanian man sparked an international police pursuit when he stole a BMW X6 car in Bavaria. The car thief hit speeds of 240km/h in the high performance car as he attempted to elude pursuit, with German police using no less than seven patrol vehicles to try and stop the stolen car. The thief headed towards the nearby German border with the Czech Republic, where Czech police had been alerted and then took over the pursuit, enlisting the use of a helicopter.
