KOBELCO Construction Machinery USA is raising its profile in the US with the introduction of the improved excavator range at Conexpo. One of the key new models in the line-up is the 5.5tonne class SK55, although the range extends all the way to the powerful SK500 which competes in the competitive 50tonne excavator class.

2200 Kobelco Construction Machinery USA is raising its profile in the US with the introduction of the improved excavator range at Conexpo. One of the key new models in the line-up is the 5.5tonne class SK55, although the range extends all the way to the powerful SK500 which competes in the competitive 50tonne excavator class.
The firm’s largest excavator currently in production however weighs in at 81.6tonnes. In all the company is showing 14 of its latest excavator models at Conexpo and these share features such as improved cycle times, sophisticated load-sensing hydraulics and, high performance, low emission engines. The firm is amongst the technology leaders with advanced systems, including an innovative noise and dust reduction package, advanced hydraulic circuitry for reduction of pressure loss and high fuel efficiency. The company is also highlighting three all new demolition machines and three products from 7228 Hino, a partner manufacturer that supplies engines for Kobelco products. The firm says that it is keen to re-establish the brand as a market leader in North America. Kobelco is exhibiting a 26tonne short radius hydraulic excavator along with its sister company Kobelco Cranes at bauma. The company is returning on its own to markets in Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East and Russia following the termination of its previous arrangement with CNH.
