Dressta’s dozers can be tailored for extreme duty cycles

The firm has considerable experience in specifying its machines for different, and in some cases particularly arduous, machine applications. The range of customer-specific variations include optimal equipment configuration to adapt the machines to very different operating environments. Similarly, machine maintenance can be tailored for optimal productivity and longevity to meet the specific needs of customers according to Dressta.

Howard Dale, vice president for Global Sales at Dressta commented, “The machines are examples of Dressta’s knowledge of specialist applications which allow us to incorporate customers’ special feature requests.” He added that these features can boost both productivity and durability in applications such as landfill and mining in extreme conditions.

Dressta says that it can combine engineering quality with bespoke solutions for special feature requests (SFRs) across a range of applications. The company offers application packs that provide modified ancillary specifications and can ensure machines are equipped for challenging duty cycles, from deserts and tropical forest areas, to sub-zero conditions.

The company has for example specified machines for use in extremely low temperatures at the ALROSA Corporation Diamond Mines in Yakutia, Siberia. Six Dressta TD-15M Extra crawler dozers were supplied in Arctic versions to cope with the difficult climatic conditions, with temperatures as low as -60ºC in winter, and as high as +40ºC in summer. These modifications included a sophisticated engine preheating system; a fuel heating system to prevent wax solidification and ice formation; a series of heating systems to protect the hydraulic and engine oil, coolant and battery box; and a specially designed Arctic cab with double glazed windows and alternative steering levers for use with heavy gloves.

The company now offers both landfill and mining models, which incorporate customer driven features based on Dressta’s application experience in each sector. Dressta offers three models of landfill crawler dozers: the TD-25M LA Extra, TD-20M LA Extra and the TD-15M LA Extra, all of which feature effective waste compaction capability and large blades with a trash rack and single or multi-shank rippers. Each machine is equipped with a 196 Cummins engine and the models are designed to meet the challenges of landfill projects, where working environments vary widely and SFRs are common.
