And World Highways Deputy Editor David Arminas has also recognised for his February 2016 feature on an historic bridge rebuild. The article, which was headlined “88-year-old Peace Bridge between the US and Canada to get a facelift,” was listed as one of the global B2B sector’s top 20 best features.
The Tabbie Awards are organised and presented by the Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI) group and have been running for 14 years. They are designed to reward editorial and design excellence in English-language business publications worldwide, published at least three times per year, and they are widely recognised as the Oscars of the industry.
According to TABPI President Paul J. Heney, this year’s competition was fiercely contested. “We saw a great deal of changes this year in the patterns of who was entering what,” he said. “We saw more publications entering in certain categories, such as Best Single Issue. The judging was particularly tough there, and there were areas where multiple publications were very close in scoring.”
There was a truly international field of entries. “The 2017 Tabbie Awards featured more than 400 entries with nominations coming from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Singapore and South Africa,” said the panel of judges.
In the “Best Single Issue” category, by far and away the competition's most comprehensive, World Highways was listed as one the best 25 business titles in the world. We were honoured to be listed alongside titles such as ASCENT, BizEd, Commercial Investment Real Estate, Employment Today, FORBES WOMAN AFRICA, GPSolo, Hospitals & Health Networks, INSTORE, IR Magazine, The O&P EDGE, OPC Register, Pharmacy Today, Police Journal, and The AFROPOLITAN. The overall winner was INVISION Magazine.
World Highways Deputy Editor David Arminas saw his feature ranked alongside pieces from titles such as FORBES WOMAN AFRICA, Chemistry World, Engineering and Technology, Education Canada and Air Force Magazine.
