Vietnam discusses highway projects with World Bank

Vietnam's Ministry of Transport has given its approval for the six-lane Thanh Hoa-Ninh Binh highway project, which will follow the PPP model.

2560 Vietnam's Ministry of Transport has given its approval for the six-lane Thanh Hoa-Ninh Binh highway project, which will follow the PPP model. The Ministry of Transport is in discussions with the 2332 World Bank for a loan to finance the project. In all, the project is expected to cost US$1.53 billion. Meanwhile $305 million is being sought in loans from the World Bank for maintenance of 548km of highway and upgrades to 89km of highway sections, as well as well as to tackle flooding issues on certain road stretches in the provinces of southern Binh Thuan and central Ha Tinh.
