A Turkish contractor is to handle a major road project in Oman worth over US$304 million. Sezai Turkes-Feyzi Akkaya (2709 STFA) will construct package I-B of Oman's Bid-Bid-Sur project. The work involves upgrading and widening an existing 75km stretch of two lane road to a four lane dual carriageway, with two lanes in either direction. Also included in the project is the construction of a 50km service road and nine interchanges. STFA has said that it will take two months to ramp up operations on the project with the actual work itself then taking 36 months to complete.
