Taiwan city to get new rapid transit line

A US$2.07 billion rapid transit system extension has been earmarked for the Taiwanese city of Taichung.

A US$2.07 billion rapid transit system extension has been earmarked for the Taiwanese city of Taichung. The project, financed by the city’s government, would create a new 29.27km orange line consisting of 21 stations. The major transport initiative was revealed by Hsiao Chia-chi, vice mayor of Taichung City. No details have been given of when construction work may start or its estimated completion date.
