Shanghai Construction Co wins Cambodia road contract

Cambodia’s capital’s key connection construction contract is commencing. Work is now underway for the Phnom Penh ring road project. The new ring road will measure 53km long and funding for the US$273 million project is being provided jointly by the Cambodian Government and Chinese Government. Building the new ring road will take around 42 months and the new route should open to traffic in late 2021. Construction of Vietnam’s US$1.4 billion Da Nang-Quang Ngai expressway is now underway. The near 140km-long expressway will have four lanes and a speed limit of 120km/hour. It will link economic hubs like Dung Quat (Quang Ngai), Da Nang-Chu Lai (Quang Nam) and Nhon Hoi (Binh Dinh). MonteAdriano Engenharia e Construcao has been awarded two contracts in Mozambique worth a combined US$92.33million. The Portugese construction and engineering company will renovate and build two roads with a joint length of 58km near the provinces of Zambezia and Niassa, and two roads with a combined length of 90km in Tete province. The works must be completed within 18 months.
