Construction work is planned for a key road connection for Chad. Surfacing work will be carried out for the stretch of road connecting Ngouri and Bol. Financing could be supplied by the Saudi Fund for Development (SDF), which has been in discussions with the Chad Government over the project.

The Ngouri-Bol road section is important as it forms part of the Trans-Saharan Road. Work was being carried out on this section by a contractor but the deal was terminated over a number of issues. Should the discussions prove positive, the financing will be in place and a new tender for the work will then follow.
Meanwhile, work is underway for the second bridge linking capital N’Djamena. The bridge will carry dual lanes over the Chari River. With the majority of the work carried out, the bridge will be complete shortly and its opening will improve traffic flow to and from the city. Lying close to Chad’s border with Cameroon, N’Djamena will benefit from improved trade and transport with its neighbour.
