A multi-billion Kazakhstan-Mongolia highway link is planned.
Plans are in hand for a new highway connecting Kazahstan and Mongolia, which is expected to cost several billion dollars to construct. The project is being promoted by the Kazakh Transport Ministry.
The route will connect Ust-Kamenogorsk and Ridder in Kazakhstan with Mongolia, via the Russian town of Tuekta.
The highway will be nearly 840km in length once complete. A 190km or so stretch of the route in Kazakhstan has already been completed.
