Italian highway start date

Plans are in hand to build an 87km long highway in Italy, from Cassano Magnago, in the Province of Varese, through Lombardy and linking with Milan, Como, Lecco, Bergamo and Monza. Work on the highway should begin at the end of this year and is planned to be ready for use in time for Expo 2015. The new link is expected to cost €4.5 billion to build and will be constructed by the Italian highway operator Pedemontana Lombarda.
