Innovation award nominees for bauma 2016 announced

The organisers of the buama 2016 event have now revealed the nominations for innovation awards programme. Klaus Dittrich, Chairman & CEO of Messe München, revealed the 15 nominated companies and their innovations. The winners will be announced on the evening before bauma starts, in a ceremony at the Allerheiligen Hofkirche (Court Church of All Saints) in the Munich Residenz. The organisers of the buama 2016 event have now revealed the nominations for innovation awards programme. Klaus Dittrich, Chairman & CEO of 3995 Messe München, revealed the 15 nominated companies and their innovations. The winners will be announced on the evening before 688 bauma starts, in a ceremony at the Allerheiligen Hofkirche (Court Church of All Saints) in the Munich Residenz. The bauma exhibition will open its doors from April 11th to 17th, at the Messe München exhibition centre in Germany.

The Innovation Award is presented in five categories: Machinery; Components; Construction Process/Construction Work; Research; and Design. In total 118 applications were received from Germany and abroad. The jury has selected three new developments in each category to go forward to the final round. All of the nominated innovations offer significant practical benefit and economic potential.

The trade journalists attending the bauma media event are being asked to participate in the judging.

In the category 1 for machinery, the nominees were the Kramer 5055e, from Kramer-Werke; the autonomous vibratory plate, from Ammann Schweiz; the mobile battery mold from Weckenmann Anlagentechnik. In category 2 for components the nominees were the SONO water-cement analyser from Imko; the intelligent crane fibre rope from Teufelberger Seil; the Liebherr energy storage system from Liebherr Components Biberach. In category 3 for construction process/construction work the nominees were the reinforcement of a steel bridge byLeonhard Weiss; the pipe-laying equipment RVG 1.0 from Harald Gollwitzer Spezialtiefbau; the building (yard) logistics 4.0 for SMEs from Johann Augel Bauunternehmung. In category 4 for research the nominees were concrete-3D-printing technology from TU Dresden, Dept of Construction Machinery Technology; the STEAM hybrid excavator from RWTH Aachen in cooperation with Volvo CE; the MIDOS for offshore foundations, Bauer Maschinen in cooperation with the University College of Dublin. And in category 5 for design the nominees were the concept cab - The Future Genius from TU Dresden; the Mecalac MWR from Mecalac France; the triple-boom system from Tadano Faun.
