Bosnia and Croatia are looking to discuss a new highway construction project to link the two countries.
The Adriatic-Ionic section of the Corridor VC motorway looks likely to pass through Bosnia. The plan is to build a total of 110km of roads, out of the planned 336km on the Corridor VC, by 2012.
The project will be financed with funding from the1166 European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the 2332 World Bank with funding worth a total of €511.29 million. The motorway would connect Bosnia with the south-eastern part of Europe which includes Albania, Montenegro and Greece, starting from Croatia. Bosnia plans to put the proposal before the Croatian government soon.
The Kuwaiti government is to provide a €25.56 million loan to fund construction of Bosnia's new Corridor 5C highway, an arrangement of note as Middle Eastern rather than European funding is being used to back construction work.
