The tender for construction of another section of the D6 motorway in the Czech Republic is due to start by the third quarter this year.

Work on the 8km section, which will connect Bošov with Knínice, is expected to start next year at a cost of nearly €170 million.

The D6, when completed, will go from Prague through Karlovy Vary and Cheb to the border with Germany. Its first segment was opened in 1980s.

Last September, a tender was issued for construction of a 12km section of the D6 in Karlovy Vary worth around €208.63 million. Karlovy Vary, with around 50,000 inhabitants, is about 106km west of the capital city Prague.
