Register today for one of the world’s foremost continuing professional development programmes tailored to the needs of senior road professionals

Organised by the 1128 University of Birmingham (UK) in association with 1201 IRF Geneva, the Senior Road Executives (SRE) Programme has established an international reputation as an essential ‘must attend’ annual event for senior road professionals from across the world.

Designed to advance global understanding of the most pressing issues facing the road sector, the SRE is recognised by the 2332 World Bank as well as the UK 3915 Department for International Development (DFID). Courses are broken down into four intensive, 3-day residential modules as follows:

Road Sector Reforms, 18-20 June 2012: International Practice; Sectoral Roles; Rural Roads; Ownership and Responsibility; Road Boards; Management Boards; Management Structures; Performance Based Contracts.

Road Financing, 21-23 June 2012: Road Funds; Governance; Private Finance; Accountability; Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs); Road User Charges.

Road Safety, 25-27 June 2012: Economics; Low-cost Measures; Vision Zero; Vulnerable Road Users; Strategies & Policy; Safety Audits; International Practices.

Road Maintenance Management, 28-30 June:  Data Collection; Diagnosis; Treatment Selection; Prioritisation; Decision Support Systems; Sustainability; Environment.

The programme is structured so that delegates may attend any number of modules in accordance with their needs and availability, with participants attending all four eligible to receive IRF’s prestigious Certificate in Sustainable Road Management.

The format of interactive plenary sessions, case studies, question and answer sessions and site visits enables participants to learn new concepts; discuss pertinent issues; interact and network with international specialists and fellow delegates; identify solutions to problems faced in their respective countries, and share knowledge and experience. In this respect, the courses are particularly relevant to the needs of senior practitioners from emerging economies and developing countries, members of road boards, government officials and key staff from multilateral donor agencies.

Given the anticipated high demand for places, you are advised to reserve well in advance – especially as, for all bookings made before 4th May 2012, FREE bed & breakfast accommodation in the Ibis Hotel located in the heart of the city is included in the package.
