JLG, part of the Oshkosh Corporation, said the Hinowa deal enables the company to strengthen its range of specialty applications and increase its presence in niche industries, including the agricultural, landscaping, and vegetation management sectors.
At the moment, Hinowa will remain a separate brand and go on marketing its stable of track-based aerial work platforms, mini dumpers, lift trucks, and undercarriage products.
JLG-branded compact crawler booms, which Hinowa has produced since 2010, can be powered by electric, hybrid, and diesel power units.
“The acquisition was all about growing the company and growing our capabilities,” said Frank Nerenhausen, president of JLG.
“JLG and Hinowa are both strong brands. Joining forces allows us to unlock more potential globally. This is a very positive time for the business.”
JLG Industries’ product portfolio includes JLG aerial work platforms, JLG and SkyTrak telehandlers, rotary telehandlers, and a wide range of associated accessories.
